Dr. Jennifer Barnes
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I work with children, adolescents, and adults to help them achieve their optimal mental health.
I love working with children and teens, and I have extensive experience with this age group. I am excited to offer a variety of creative approaches to help engage youth of any age.
Currently, my focus is on providing psycho-educational assessments to help children and adolescents achieve their maximum potential in their schooling. Individuals may struggle academically for a variety of reasons, including difficulties with attention, learning disorders, or the impact of mental health concerns such as anxiety. These assessments can provide an in-depth look into an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, and can provide recommendations for academic success.
I have experience providing therapy and assessments in a variety of settings, including community-based, hospital, forensic and private-practice environments. I completed my pre-doctoral residency at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, primarily in the Youth Psychiatry program. I obtained my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manitoba in 2020. I have also received additional training from Postpartum Support International in perinatal mental health.
